Intro to Ice Climbing

An introductory ice climbing clinic for all experience levels! Come learn the fundamental movement and skills for ascending waterfall ice.

Intro to Glacier Travel
Learn and practice systems to move efficiently through glaciated terrain. This clinic will cover topics like footwork, self arrest, and roping up.

Intermediate Ice 
Build on your ice climbing foundation to refine movement skills, improve technique, and confidently tackle more challenging frozen terrain.

Ice Anchors
Learn how to properly set up top-rope anchors for ice climbs.

Alpine Efficiencies 
In this movement-focused clinic, you will learn systems for traveling efficiently in ice, alpine, and glaciated terrain.

Intro to Lead Climbing
Learn how to place protection when scaling frozen falls from the ground up. You'll learn these techniques from the safety of a top rope.

Intro to Mixed Climbing/Dry Tooling
If you're ready for the next step in alpinism, mixed climbing is for you! Learn to place and use your ice tools on both ice and rock.

Crevasse Rescue
The 3 person team is generally the standard for beginner crevasse rescue clinics. Learn to set up rope systems to extract a climber from a crevasse.

Advanced Crevasse Rescue
Rescue techniques differ with smaller parties. Learn to travel safely with a smaller team.

  • Equipment needed - For crevasse rescue courses, please bring a 6ft & 12ft piece of 6mm cord, 3 locking carabiners, 2 non-locking carabiners, 1 double-length sling, and an 18 foot cordelette.

Rental Information

Boots, crampons, harnesses, and helmets are available to rent for clinic participants. We cannot guarantee your rental if you do not fill out the rental form in your confirmation email. If you need to rent gear, please plan to arrive at the rental tent 20-30 minutes before your scheduled clinic start time.

Minimum Participants

Meet your instructor in the main parking lot 15 minutes prior to the start of your clinic. From there you will walk to the instruction site.

Spend 3 hours learning through a combination of instruction and hands-on practice.

Please bring your stoke! If you have questions regarding which clinics are best for you, please feel free to get in contact.

  • Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email full of important information - make sure to read it thoroughly!
  • Leading up to your course, make sure to eat healthy, drink extra water, and get plenty of sleep.
  • Please arrive on time and ready to go at your pre-arranged meeting location. To get the most of our day, we'd like to begin right at the designated start time.

Equipment Lists

Required Gear

  1. Head/face protection : warm hat, sun hat *baseball cap is fine, neck gaiter *buff or balaclava, sunglasses with good side coverage
  2. 25-40L day pack 
  3. Full shank (4 season) mountaineering boots with well fitting crampons
  4. Water bottles with at least 2L capacity 
  5. Climbing helmet
  6. Insulating layer : puffy jacket/belay parka and fleece or puffy pants
  7. Waterproof layers : hooded jacket and pants, gaiters highly recommended
  8. Climbing harness 
  9. Personal kit : sunscreen (SPF 40 or higher), lip balm, headlamp and extra batteries, toiletries (please bring a plastic baggie for waste), personal medications and first aid, personal medications and first aid
  10. Warm baselayers : non-cotton, moisture-wicking
  11. 2 pairs of gloves : insulating gloves, waterproof gloves


OTHER / OPTIONAL GEAR
