Day 1 - Arrive at your designated meeting location by 8am to go over equipment before driving into the Sunrise entrance of Mount Rainier National Park. You will stop for permits, then continue to the trailhead to distribute group gear and finish loading your packs. It's just over a mile of hiking into your first camp, so you can ease your way in while leaving the hustle and bustle of the parking area behind. This afternoon will feature a group orientation to discuss your goals and hold an opening circle and yoga practice. Top it all off with a hot meal and a good night's sleep to prepare you for the days to come.
Day 2 - Wake up in the beautiful backcountry and begin the day with a morning meditation and yoga session. After breakfast, pack up camp and continue on the trail. During the day we will make time to connect, reflect, and notice the world around us. After 2.5 miles, you'll arrive at Berkeley Park, your wildflower-filled home for the evening. After setting up camp there will be an opportunity for a second yoga practice to stretch the body and the mind, or you can choose instead to journal or explore. After dinner, end each night with a debrief and discussion before crawling into your sleeping bag.
Day 3 - Follow a similar routine to yesterday. Today's hike is 5.3 miles from Berkeley Park camp through glorious Grand Park and finally to Lake Eleanor. Along the way we will take plenty of breaks for snacks, photos, and views. Revel in the solitude and beauty of Mount Rainier's less-visited northern side.
Day 4 - By now you know what to expect. On today's journey you will retrace your steps back to Berkeley Park. Savor every moment of your last afternoon yoga session and evening beneath the stars.
Day 5 - Open your eyes to greet the last morning of the trip. Practice gratitude for this whole experience during the closing practice and ceremony. After a late breakfast and packing up camp one final time, you'll begin your 3.5 mile trek home. You can expect to be back to the parking lot around 4pm.
